Quip is an oral health care brand specializing in cost-effective products with great design that promotes American Dental Association-approved dental hygiene starting at $25 for the plastic version, $40 for the metal Quip brush, and $60 for the Smart Electric Toothbrush, all which include a travel cover. Unlike electric toothbrush competitors like Philips Sonicare or Oral-B, Quip allows you to brush your teeth without the wires and charger. The Quip electric toothbrush is rechargeable via AAA batteries with a battery life of three months. And unlike the manual toothbrush competition, Quip's electric toothbrush features a soft bristle brush head and a two-minute timer of sonic vibrations to ensure every quadrant of your mouth is scrubbed. In addition to their expanded product offering of toothpaste, floss, mouthwash and gum, Quip also boasts an app that tracks the user’s brushing duration, coverage, and other data to improve brushing habits via bluetooth. Customers have the option to subscribe and receive replaceable brush heads, floss, and other oral care products every three months for just $5 each. What We Love About Quip

  • Quip delivers oral care products in a simplistic, stunning design in a slim handle with multiple color schemes to choose from at a very approachable price point by comparison to other electric toothbrushes promoting improved oral hygiene.

  • Its expanded product line now includes an ADA-accepted, anti-cavity fluoride toothpaste, floss, gum, mouthwash, and a children’s tooth brushing system in kid-friendly colors and sizes.

  • An app integration offers more insight and controls over the user’s brushing habits for maximum dental protection.

  • Customers have a convenience option available via a subscription service, where replacement brush heads and other products refill every three months for only $5.

  • Quip provides customers the security of a lifetime warranty and the freedom to cancel their subscription at any time.

  • Each brush’s travel case doubles as an adhesive mirror mount, which conveniently and accessible adheres to the vanity mirror, with the ability to be moved and replaced, freeing up counter space, and potential for cross contamination.

  • Its toothpaste line is available in a variety of flavors, and is suitable for vegans.

  • Quip ships worldwide, with free shipping on refills no matter the destination.

What You Should Know

  • The Quip electric toothbrush head is designed with a combination of rubberized and standard bristles, which could take some getting used to, and the sizing of the brush head may not be a fit for everyone.

  • The vibrating motion occurs mostly from the handle rather than the brush head, and could be experienced more as a prompt for effective brushing rather than the automatic brushing seen in more traditional electric toothbrushes, leaving efficacy at the hands of the consumer.

  • Customers will have to pay extra for the Smart Electric Toothbrush ($60) and other premium designs beyond the base-priced plastic version.

  • There is no pressure sensor to alert users of aggressive brushing on the basic models without bluetooth integration.

  • You may return your Quip toothbrush within 30 days if you don’t love it, however you will be responsible for the cost of return shipping.

We'd Recommend Quip If

  • You enjoy the simplistic, compact, and travel-ready design the Quip electric toothbrush offers at a great price.

  • You appreciate the Quip toothbrush's intentioned design to push you towards better oral care habits (thanks to its two-minute timer brushing reminder).

  • You prefer the convenience of receiving new brush heads through Quip’s refill plan, with free shipping, no matter where in the world you are located.

  • You appreciate the security in knowing Quip offers a lifetime warranty and can be canceled at any time.

I really enjoy my quip subscription and haven't had any issues with the brushes. My husband and I have the metal ones and my son has a kids plastic one. Automated refills are great for convenience and are always on time, and my 5 year old likes having his own brush just like ours; the timers really do help with teaching kids how long is the right time to brush, and he also loves the Watermelon toothpaste. I also love the sticky toothbrush holders and the fact that these are battery operated; I just don't have the space in our bathroom for a plug-in electric brush. FWIW our dentist always has good things to say at our regular appointments (except that none of us floss enough lol). My only gripe is that I wish I could bundle all of our refills together, they all ship separately around the same time.

What is Quip?
Highlighted by its compact electric toothbrush, Quip is an ADA-approved oral health care brand specializing in cost-effective products with great design that promotes amazing oral hygiene.
What products does Quip offer?
While Quip is best known for its electric toothbrush and replaceable brush heads for adults, it has expanded its oral care line to include toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, gum, and child-friendly oral hygiene products.
Does Quip offer any product features?
Yes - Quip puts technology in the customer’s hands to improve their oral habits. Its guided brushing features a 2-minute timer, with a 30-second pulse reminder to hit every quadrant of your mouth. Travel ready, mirror-mountable, and free of cords or wires, it can easily be taken anywhere you go. Quip users can also purchase the Smart Electric Toothbrush, which via app integration, can be paired over bluetooth to track the user’s brushing duration, coverage, and intensity.
How does Quip compare with other electric toothbrush systems on the market?
Quip separates itself from competitors by being more travel friendly, battery powered, aesthetically appealing, and prides itself in offering what you need without excess frills in its base model. Its pricing model is significantly more affordable than other name-brand electric toothbrushes, however the power and speed of its movement is - while still adequate at 15,000 brush strokes per minute - substantially below the metrics of a Sonicare electric toothbrush, which claims up to 62,000 brush strokes per minute, or an Oral-B Pro electric toothbrush with 48,000 brush strokes per minute.
How much does a Quip refill cost and how frequently do they ship?
Refill plans for Quip products like a new brush head, floss and toothpaste are just $5 each with free shipping, and are recommended to be refilled every three months.
Is Quip easy to cancel?
Yes, Quip’s refill plan can be canceled at any time. Quip also offers a lifetime warranty with each refill plan.
