I held a small program in our community and I used Japan mini crates as my humble giveaways. My guests were so happy and impressed with the crates and I'm so happy that they enjoyed my program and presents too! Thank you! Japan crate is a huge help!

Crates are mediocre at best. I purchased a 6 month prepaid plan and was given NO indication WHATSOEVER that it was a recurring subscription. Six months go by, and I am charged another $214.50 US dollars. I contacted support, told them I literally cannot afford this because I have been unemployed over 6 months. They proceeded to give me the same answer everyone here gets. It's in the fine print. No refunds. Website is a scam site. Stay away.

We subscribed to the Premium Japan Crate for 6 months pre-paid $195 to send to our son in college. Most of the boxes arrived very late- he received 2 boxes in 1 day during the 6 months with no advance notice or credit issued when I emailed customer service about the crates not arriving as they should have. With no email or other notice, Japan Crate auto-renewed our credit card for ANOTHER 6 months- the day I saw it in on our card- I emailed Customer Service to ask for it to be removed and our account cancelled. Customer service rep refused to issue a credit or refer this to supervisor as I asked. Watch out for Japan Crate's auto renew policies and lack of notification about shipping delays and lack of prior notification before auto renewing your full subscription fees.

My first box was the Original size ($25), which includes 8-10 items and a guaranteed DIY kit. They had a shipping delay and said their DIY kits came broken, but they made up for it by including extra items. My box included an extra candy item and 2 kawaii gel roller ball ink pens with an extra fine point. I feel they are very transparent about their issues. The boxes shipped out shortly after their regular time frame and I received my box in 3 days from ship date. They ship them out priority 2-day. I received a variety of items such as gum, gummies, chips, traditional Japanese candies, etc. It's a fun experience. However, you could do this yourself for MUCH cheaper even paying retail from their own supplier. I do it for the experience I guess, it's fun trying everything with my boyfriend. You can view their past boxes on their website and lots of their customers post to their twitter and facebook with pictures and videos. Do it for the experience!
