Calm is an app for sleep, relaxation, and mindfulness meditation, available in both the App Store and Google Play store. Calm is dedicated to introducing its worldwide community to the amazing benefits of mindfulness. Calm creates unique audio content that strengthens mental fitness and tackles some of the biggest mental health challenges of today: stress, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Calm’s goal is to improve health and happiness by helping to improve sleep, reduce stress or anxiety, sharpen focus, and inspire relaxation. The app is free to download and some free content is available, but a paid subscription to Calm Premium unlocks the full library of guided meditations, stories, music playlists, breathing exercises, stretches, Calm Masterclasses, and other features. You can access everything through the Calm app, available on iOS and Android. Monthly subscriptions can be purchased through Apple iTunes or the Google Play Store. Calm subscription content is also available online at calm.com.

How does Calm work?
The Calm app is free to download (and there is some free content). You won’t incur any charges from downloading it or creating a Calm account. When downloading the Calm app onto an iOS device, users have the option to activate a free 7-day trial of Calm Premium subscription content. This free trial is through iTunes, which means Apple handles the activation, cancellation, and any fees. Google Play (Android) also offers a free 7-day trial for a Calm Premium subscription. When you sign up, you’ll be prompted to answer a number of questions based on what brought you to Calm, how you feel, and your mindfulness goals.
How do I sign up for a free 7-day trial?
After downloading the app, users will first have an option to create a Calm account. It’s best to do this if you plan to use the free trial. After signing in, you’ll see a screen inviting you to try 7 days of subscription access. This unlocks the free 7-day trial of Calm Premium on your Calm account. The free trial will be active for 7 days, after which you’ll be charged the full yearly subscription price of $69.99. You must cancel the trial at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid any charges from iTunes.
You can also begin your free trial through the Calm app anytime by tapping a locked item (look for the lock icon) and following the instructions on the page.
What if I don’t want to start a free trial?
When prompted to unlock Calm on the app, exit out of the screen. This will take you to the home screen of the Calm app, where you can explore the free content. If you think you’ve activated a free 7-day trial by mistake, or would like to check your subscription status, tap the More button on the home screen, go to Settings, and then Manage Subscription.
How do I turn off auto-renewal or cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your Calm subscription’s auto-renewal at any time on your Manage Subscription page. You'll continue to have access to the premium content until the subscription's expiration date. For subscriptions purchased through Apple iTunes and Google Play, tap on "here" on your Manage Subscription page to be redirected to your phone's subscription settings.
Does Calm offer refunds?
The refund process depends on where you purchased your subscription. Refund requests for annual subscriptions made through calm.com or the Google Play Store can usually be accommodated within 30 days of purchase. Customers who subscribed to Calm through iTunes will need to reach out to Apple directly with any refund requests. Apple is typically able to honor all refund requests made within 30 days of purchase, but it's at their discretion. Lifetime memberships, gift cards of any length, and Teams subscriptions are not eligible for a refund.
How do I purchase a monthly subscription?
Monthly subscriptions for $14.99 can be purchased through Apple iTunes or the Google Play Store. If you want to try it out first, you can start with the free 7-day trial of the Calm app for iTunes (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Cancel your free trial to prevent it from charging for a yearly subscription at the end of the free trial. Tap on "here" on your Manage Subscription page to be redirected to your iTunes or Google Play settings, where you should see an option to cancel. Once your 7-day trial period ends, the premium content on the Calm app will lock. By tapping a locked icon, a page of subscription options will appear with a monthly subscription option.
Is Calm Premium worth it?
Yes, if you plan to use it for more than just meditation by taking advantage of Daily Calm, Sleep Stories, Calm Masterclasses, Calm Kids, Calm Body, music playlists, meditations, and more. Keep an eye out for promotions and offers to save off the regular price.
